Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a form of natural healing which dates back to at least 200BC. It involves a combination of gentle massage with the application of essential oils, which penetrate the skin as part of the healing process.
There are many essential oils, extracted mainly from plants and trees, and in the course of an aromatherapy treatment, small quantities of an oil (or oils) are carefully blended with carrier oil, and massaged into the skin. The appropriate oil or oils will have been especially selected by the aromatherapist for curative and healing properties relating to the problem(s) being treated.
Each essential oil has distinct properties, which can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions such as migraine, muscle problems, skin conditions, insomnia and respiratory disorders. By the use of correct oil(s) Aromatherapy assists the bodys natural healing processes, and like reflexology is becoming increasingly accepted by members of the medical profession.
Aromatherapy is highly recommended as a preventive treatment, and for general bodily relaxation and well-being. It can help and relieve many conditions and it very relaxing.
