 About UsRainbow Apothecary is situated in the riverside town of Woodbridge, Suffolk. We are a small family run company, which was formed over 12 years ago, after the birth of my twin daughters. I decided to try and bring my children up as natural and peaceful as possible and formed this company to sell the products which I found helped me to achieve this way of life.
Meadowsweet Natural Bodycare products and Toiletries.
When my children where born they were so special and magical (as all new parents feel!), their little bodies seemed so sensitive and vulnerable that I did not want to use the normal commercial baby skincare products as some contained a lot of harsh chemicals. I already had a ' Natural Health' Practice which offered Aromatherapy, Clinical Massage, Reflexology and Nutritional advice, therefore I was in the ideal position to start to investigate and blend my own Baby skincare range. After a few months I started making these products for not only myself but also my family and friends. Soon I had to also included skincare for Adults and Teenagers too!. It soon became obvious that these products were in great demand and that a lot of other parents felt that they too wanted to use natural products for their special little ones. I now have an extensive range and have the products manufactured for me as it not viable to stay up most of the night mixing products on my kitchen table any more!
I am very careful to make sure none of the products are tested on animals and do not contain any animal derived ingredients, hence we do not use lanolin. Also with the increase of public concern in Genetically Modified products we insist that all raw materials used have not been GM modified. Meadowsweet products do not contain SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate), for those who are concerned about this ingredient. Obviously I do not use the dreaded 'Parabens' either as there is too much evidence that it is a hormone disrupter. All Rainbow Apothecary (own label) and Meadowsweet products are suitable for vegetarians and the dairy intolerant, although I do not advise you consume any of them, even though they do smell good enough to eat!

A lot of my products are stored in glass jars or bottles so they can be recycled. My bath products come in plastic bottles to comply with safety standards. Rainbow Apothecary is very concerned about the environment and I try and recycle products whenever possible. Therefore do not be surprised if your goods are delivered in a re-used box or recycled padded envelope. The protective packaging will usually be paper that has been recycled and shredded or any other re-usable product that can protect the goods, it is not for stinginess but for the sake of my children's and also your children's future. We have to stop cutting down so many trees, start planting more trees and recycle products when ever possible. I also encourage our customers to re-use the packaging again, every little helps!
Heath Products and Supplements
As I am a qualified Medical Nutritionist and Herbalist I also sell Supplements and Natural remedies that I am impressed with or that I know is produced by a professional grade manufacturer. I will not sell cheap Vitamins etc that you will find in the High street as often they don't work and believe me I have tested some of them and am surprised they can be called Health products!!
