Reflexology

This art, first practised many thousands of years ago by the Ancient Egyptians and Chinese involves the use of gentle pressure on specific parts of the feet.

Reflexology is based on the principal that all body parts have related reflex points on the feet.  By applying pressure to these points the corresponding organs are stimulated and encouraged to function more efficiently.

These pressures release toxins indicated by tiny deposits and tensions which can be felt by the trained hands of the therapist, and the treatment effectively eliminates the toxins, thus promoting the free flow of energy and nutrients to the body’s cells.  Reflexology encourages the body to heal itself at its own pace, often counteracting a lifetime of misuse.  By reinforcing the body’s healing mechanisms and strengthening the immune system reflexology acts as a powerful preventative treatment.

Your first visit to a reflexologist will involve a preliminary talk, followed by an examination of your feet to locate problem areas.  Whilst there maybe some fleeting discomfort during treatment, reflexology will help relax you and assist in the alleviation of your stresses and strains.

Reflexology has been successful in relieving many acute conditions, including back pain, insomnia, allergies and migraine.

Your course of treatment will vary in length according to the needs of your body, but individual sessions will last around fifty minutes (allow an hour for your first visit).
